Why do you barre so hard?

 

I love barre because it continues to challenge me! I love how each week I feel stronger and can barre harder than the last, but I also can always challenge myself to be stronger, hold longer, sink deeper. I love that it is a mental practice just as much as a physical workout. When I’m at barre I can’t worry about my day to day stresses, I can only focus on myself, in the moment. I find that very meditative.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it about learning to dance in the rain!

Barre makes me feel strong, clears my head and gives me the energy to keep up with my busy 3 year old.

What is a secret talent of yours?
I can touch my tongue to my nose. I also bake, knit, embroider, and do paper cut illustrations.

Why do you barre so hard? 
 

It’s an alternative to the gym that’s structured but is varied enough
that it never feels routine. It’s a full body workout that really targets
and tones the smaller areas of your body you don’t usually exercise.
 
What is your favorite post workout snack?
 
Always down for a smoothie loaded with lots of fruit and greens or
dates with almond butter and coconut

The BBS Tribe is such an empowering and motivational group of people! There are days where I want to take class more than once just to be a part of the great community and vibes you get from being around BBS.
 


Tell us something that we don't know about you!
 
I am a sciences student at the U of A, focussing on human biology and anthropology! I am also a certified ballet teacher and love to paint and photograph in my spare time!
Standard Barre Body Fit Class with an extra 15 minutes of stretching at the end of class.
